The main groups of animals in Farmville are Livestock and Lost Animals. You can acquire Livestock at the Market for coins or Farmville cash while Lost Animals will show up on your farm once in a while.  One advantage of animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones.  Animals will patiently wait for you to log in again and harvest it.  Animals are trouble-free and easy to manage.  It is a good approach of earning money whilst enjoying some variety on your farm.

Livestock

The livestock you can currently pay coins or Framcash for at the Market are pretty limited.  The livestock which you may obtain at the Market are dairy cows, white (regular) sheep and pigs.  New animals appear for a selected time on special occasions and holidays. Green cows presently calledAlien Cow (formerly titled as BOV1NE-09) showed in the Market for 2400 coins.   They give a crop named “milktonium” which sells for 18 coins. American Thanksgiving brought the “Baby Turkey”–when harvested for the first time, it will transform into a full-grown, adult Turkey.   The full-grown Turkey can then be harvested for feathers once every 2 days at 80 coins a harvest.  Your friends can send you more interesting livestock as free gifts plus the standbys are available there too.

You will notice that that the harvest times for every animal are not the same.  You can harvest several animals every day whilst other animals require two, three or as many as 4 days.

Lost Animals

Status updates of your friends might show that they have discovered a lost animal on Farmville .  the lost animals will once in a while appear on your farm and ask for your help.  For example, to celebrate American Thanksgiving, the creators of Farmville released a new “lost animal”– the Wild Turkey.

The Wild Turkey will appear on your farm with the following caption:

(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..

The other “lost animals” in Farmville are:

*Ugly Duckling (transforms into a swan)

*Brown Cow (gives chocolate milk)

*Pink Cow (produces strawberry milk )

*Black Cat (gives yarn)

*Turtle (gives eggs)

*Black Sheep (gives chocolate wool)

*Regular cows also wander but they are available through the Market and as free gifts

With lost animals, you will not be able to adopt the animal yourself.  You can post a status update on your Facebook that you have found a lost animal.  If you have another account in Facebook, this is the right instance to log into it!

Place your animal up for adoption, then log out.  Log in on your other account and immediately adopt the animal before someone else does!   Frequently check your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animal.

If you’re obtaining a large number of cows and/or chickens, consider buying a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop.

These buildings provide a suitable means to keep the animals, as well as harvesting them all at once. A Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop has a space for 20 cows or chickens.
