Announcement of the new expansion started a lot of discussion about the two brand new races, items, skills and naturally, new professions.

Archaeology basics
Archaeology will be the last of the secondary professions, allowing further customizations to be performed on the characters. Players who learn Archaeology will be able to research the ruins in all of the zones and search for the antiques just like real Archaeologists would do.
The research process will include making notes and collecting various artifacts. These artifacts will enable Archaeologists to further customize their characters, while handing these artifacts in to a Titan cult will bring them all different kinds of rewards, such as Teleportation, Vanity pets and new items of interest.
Depending on the path they choose, Archeologists will be able to make new discoveries which will bring new passive skills and new abilities.
How unique is Archaeology?
All the professions in WoW are conceited to follow the certain pattern – to be learned, skilled to the appropriate level and then used to produce some final product. Archaeology will be different. You will not be able to level it up to the maximum skill level and then stop advancing it. It will allow continuous advancing in profession, which will ensure the constant interest of players for this profession.
Reforging basics
Reforging profession will allow further customization of the characters’ gear. Only the gear statistics will be subject to customization, unfortunately not the appearance as well. Appearance customization might be something saved for the future.
Reforging skill will be available to those having Blacksmithing, Engineering, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking and Tailoring. Players with these professions will be able to take any part of gear connected to their profession and reduce one of the stats. For example a Jewelcrafter will be able to take one stat from the ring. He will then be able to change it and then return it back to the piece as a completely different statistic.
What is so special about this?
Firstly, the stats that you will be able to change are not the ones that some item already has. If you for example have a necklace with stamina and intellect, you will be able to change stamina for the equivalent amount of the spell power instead.
This adjustment of statistics will not only be possible for the items that you can craft, but for all of them. It will be of particular help to players who do not have the required professions. Those players will be able to seek assistance from other players who have Reforging as an addition to their professions.
Expansion Cataclysm will bring new dimension to WoW. Confidently remaining on the top position among the all MMORPGs of all time, Wow is a safety bet.
