Have you been going crazy trying to figure out how to download music to PSP devices? Fear not, as I will explain in clear and simple instructions just how easy this is to do.
The PSP is a marvel of portable engineering. Never before has there been such a versatile device that allows you to play games, listen to music, view pictures and much, much more. Unfortunately, for all its versatility, it can be difficult to do all the above and get the most out of it — difficult that is, unless you know how.
The PSP is perfect for listening to music. Instead of having a seperate device for listening to music, as well as a PDA and games console, you now have one device that combines all three. With nothing more that a modicum of skill, I’ll show you how to download music to PSP format.
First of all, you need to convert your CD to mp3 format. You can do this with a variety of “ripper” programs on the market. These will read your CD and a few minutes later you will have audio files in mp3 format, ready for transfering to your PSP. These can be cumbersome to use though, and it is better if your music is already in mp3 format.
You can get mp3s from music websites, however sites like iTunes will only download in their native format and not in PSP mp3 format. There are some converters available but, again, these are difficult to use.
Now that you have your mp3 files ready for transferring, you need to first connect your PSP to your PC via a USB cable. Only then can it be shown how to download music to PSP.
Next, your PSP device will appear on your PC as an extra drive. Double click on this drive and create a folder called PSP. Double click on this new folder and create a folder called music. Now, copy the mp3 files that you already created to this new folder called music.
Hey presto! You now have music ready to play on your PSP. However, the above process, whilst relatively simple, still involves much work to get music in a format ready to listen to on the PSP.
Alternatively, there exist PSP download sites which cater specifically for the PSP user market and provide ready to download music, videos, games and wallpapers. These are very popular because everything is created for the PSP and you do not need to convert anything or run any special programs.
