Rogues can be chosen by players as their character in the World of Warcraft. A Rogue wields melee weapons and can dish out loads of damage by using special abilities. Most of the attacks a Rogue can make consume an amount of Energy. The Rogue has an Energy bar under his hit points bar which keeps track of the amount of Energy the Rogue has at the moment. A Rogue can have 100 Energy (with a certain talent 110 Energy even) which recovers over time if it is not at the maximum amount.

A Rogue can be chosen by Dwarf, Gnome, Night Elf and Human players from the Alliance side and by Troll, Orc, Undead and Blood Elf players of the Horde side. People that play Rogues usually like to play versus the other faction and the Rogue class is very good at killing others. Because they can stealth they have an advantage over their enemies. Probably the most important aspects are the talent trees. Subtlety, Assassination, and Combat are the names of the three talent trees that are available for the Rogue. If you are leveling a Rogue you should choose the Combat talent tree. The Combat talent tree will provide the Rogue with talents which make him harder to kill and he will also obtain attacks that will boost his damage like Ghost Strike. You will gain a lot of avoidance which means that you will take less hits, both the hit and crit percentage will increase and your offhand will function better which will make leveling up easier.

Once you hit your level cap you and want to play PvE, the Assasination tree is great for you. With the Assassination talent tree you will be able to dish out great amount of damage with Backstab and other good attacks. For those of you who like to play PvE it is a great build that especially focuses on the Backstab attack. Most talents are based on attacking from behind which makes it less good for soloing.

If you have an enemy that is turned towards the tank however, you can attack the target from behind and spam your attacks to make amazing amounts of damage. If you like to play PvP you should try out the Subtlety talent tree. With it you will get access to talents that will allow you to do a lot of burst damage. If you play PvE you want to do more damage over time so Subtlety is less useful there.
