Is Duke Nukem Dead Forever? The developer behind the famous muscle, pyscho killing and bubblegum chewing maniac hard-man known as The Duke, is a company called 3D Realm. They have closed down development of Duke Nukem Forever and switched off the lights to the project. Ironically, its over 11 years since the title was initially going to be released so this must now be one of the most anticipated and eagerly awaited sequels ever.
Take-Two Interactive, who are the publisher of Duke Nukem, are reported to have said they will no longer fund the games development. So it seems the entire project is dead in the water.
However, I was thinking that during this long wait for a sequel to the original Duke Nukem, maybe the game developers never had any intention of releasing the follow-up. It may seem strange to think a developer would spend time misleading gamers like us.
Since Take-Two Interactive have the rights to Duke Nukem, perhaps they should have appointed a safer pair of hands if they were serious about a relaunch of the famous ’shoot-em-up’.
I guess the big gamers conference, E3, will put an end to the agony of not knowing whether the project is truly dead or will continue along another path. I believe this title would have been a smash hit. If you think about it, the fact the project is dead is getting massive attention from bloggers, news reporters and gamers.
On the other hand you may be falling for a big hoax. I’ve checked out the screenshots online and they look dark with low resolution. This may be because they are from other work undertaken in 2000. Maybe it’s a way of creating news and publicity around the internet.
Apologies for all the unanswered questions. On another note, as a big gaming fanatic, it would be rude not to share with you my favourite games copying software. You can copy xbox 360, wii and PS3 games using this software. Obviously, I only use it to back up the games I have bought myself so not to break any laws.
